Week in Review, Vol. IX

WIR 9

Hello and welcome back to my blog!

I’ll be honest, during quarantine, when I should have been creating content, I found it extremely hard to focus and my creativity just was not there. However, now that I’m back to work and my routine is finally going back to normal, I’m excited to share lots of content and some BIG news coming soon!

What better way to jump back into the blog than by bringing back my Week in Review series! A quick recap of what I’ve been up to: house hunting, getting my health and fitness in check, tackling my TBR list, and getting back into the swing of things at work.

Quick Reads

I’ve been working more on my self care and getting my health in check now more than ever before. This The EveryGirl article is full of great new wellness trends to fit into your routine.

Lately, I’ve been increasing my water intake, and here is why you should too, and exactly how much you should be drinking in a day.

In honor of this being my birthday week, here is an interesting article from the Washington Post about why we maybe shouldn’t be blowing out our candles.

Whether conspiracy tiktok has you on the #FreeBritney train or you’re simply hearing the phrase everywhere, The Cut has some more information on the ordeal.

What I’m Reading

“The Shadows” by Alex North – Unfortunately I haven’t had a ton of time to dive into this one yet, but rumor has it that it’s the best thriller of the year so far! Learn more about it on its Goodreads page.

What I’m Watching

Ryan and I have been binging Designated Survivor on Netflix and we are OBSESSED!! We just finished the final season and are so sad it’s over. I’m still making my way through Handmaid’s Tale, and we recently started Unsolved Mysteries on Netflix, and it’s sooo good!

New Year, New Goals // 2018

New Year, New Goals // 2018

Happy New Year!

Every year I share my goals for the year with my readers as a means of holding myself accountable (see last year’s goals here).  At least once a month, I take a look back at the post to remind myself of my priorities and altar my strategy to reach my goals, if need be.

As you continue reading, you might notice that a lot of the goals are the same as last year’s. Why, you ask? The answer is quite simple – last year I failed to hold myself accountable or give myself the ability to measure my goals. Reflection on the pure laziness I exhibited last year lit a fire in me to be so much better than I was last year. So, here are my measurable, attainable goals for 2018:

  1. Work towards my goal of being fluent in another language by utilizing Duolingo at least 3 times a week – I used this app before my trip to Italy and it helped immensely. This time around, I will be using it to freshen up on my French!
  2. Explore a new place once a month – either local or out of town
  3. Be mindful of what I’m putting into my body, and log it daily
  4. Go AT LEAST an hour without technology a day
  5. Continue my education either through grad school or online courses
  6. Workout at least 5 times a week – I just started the Body Love app by Anna Victoria and, surprisingly, I actually love it! I’ve mentioned before that I loathe working out, but this time around, I’m actually looking forward to my workout for the day which is a HUGE improvement. I will be giving updates throughout my new fitness journey on my social media channels which are linked in the sidebar if you do not follow me already!

What are your goals for 2018? If we have similar goals, what are you doing to reach them?
