Week in Review, Vol. VII

Thank God it’s finally February, I thought January would never end! I hope you are all staying warm with the crazy polar vortex that happened in the Midwest this week. Despite the miserable cold, there were a number of positives that happened this week: I was able to work from home as a result of the severe weather and I always find that I’m far more productive at home than at the office, and the Backstreet Boys released their new album DNA! I’ve been a HUGE BSB fan since the ripe age of 4, and I love that they’re still producing new music. **Peep a few of their new songs I can’t get enough of in the “What I’m Listening To” portion of this post.**

Recent Purchases:

  • I just picked up this tortoise print Sonix phone case off Amazon, and I’m obsessed with it! I’ve been rocking a Lilly Pulitzer one for the past two years and while I love feeling summery year round, I was ready for a change. This is super affordable at $35 and is Military Drop Test Certified.
  • Because we know I can’t get enough of books (and I discovered two unused Barnes & Noble gift cards in my wallet), I ordered “Big Magic” by Elizabeth Gilbert and “The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck” by Mark Manson. I try to read a handful of self-help books a year and these two have been on my “to read” list for a while now.

Looking Ahead:

I am so incredibly proud of myself for successfully sticking to all of my goals for this year throughout the month of January, so I look forward to seeing the continuing progress I make from here on out. Many of my fitness goals resulted in predominately non-scale victories, which is great, but not quite where I want to be yet. As always, I’m working on some new content on topics I haven’t really touched yet and I’m so excited to share. Stay tuned!

Week in Review, Vol. II

It’s hard to believe that we are already halfway through 2018! Unfortunately, I’m a bit behind on all of my blog updates since I was out of town last week and didn’t even touch my computer, which was much needed.

Lately, in hopes of saving money, I’ve been trying to spend mindfully, which means not going shopping every time I receive a paycheck. However, after purging my closet a few months ago, I realized that I desperately needed some new summer clothes. I recently went to the mall in search of some new summer clothes, and had a difficult time finding items that weren’t “trendy” or similar to clothes that I already have. You will not believe where I ended up… Abercrombie! I haven’t shopped there since high school, but I was pleasantly surprised by some of their new styles. Keep reading to see what items I picked up on my shopping trip.

Quick Reads:

What I’m Reading: Outlander Series – “An Echo in the Bone” by Diana Gabaldon (yes, still, but I’m nearly 3/4s through! It actually might be my favorite book in the series)

Latest Purchases:

  • I have a huge thing for rompers lately. This adorable navy floral number was too cute to pass up
  • This knot front dress is not usually my style, but when I tried it on and it fit like a glove, I just had to have it!
  • This polka dot dress gave me major Parisian vibes and I adore the silhouette
  • I have been searching for a classic lace trim cami that won’t break the bank. Lucky for me, this one is currently on sale.
  • Finally, everyone needs a cute, summery floral top just like this one. It will look so cute with white jeans or shorts!

Looking Ahead: As I previously stated, I’m a bit behind on finishing up the facelift here on Keeping It Kourtney, BUT it’s nearly finished! I’m also still working on my summer schedule, so send me a message or comment below what you’d like to see in the coming months.

Album Spotlight: HAIM – Something to Tell You

I have been waiting for soft rock group HAIM to come out with a new album for what feels like FOREVER, but it’s finally here and it’s BEAUTIFUL!! Something to Tell You is the sister trio’s sophomore album, and oh my gosh you guys, I have yet to find a song that I don’t like. From the moment HAIM stepped on the scene with their first album Days Are Gone, they’ve been giving their audience 80’s synth pop melodies with nods to R&B, and this album is no different. Check out their most recent music video for their first single Want You Back below!

Album Spotlight: Halsey – hopeless fountain kingdom (Deluxe)

This month, I’m obsessing over Halsey‘s new album hopeless fountain kingdom. From the second that I started to listen to Prologue — which alludes to Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet — I knew that I’d be listening to this album on repeat.

Give it a listen and let me know what you!
